Under After
Under After artwork by Pam Daniels. Ink on plywood.
Under After is a large-scale piece measuring 48 x 96 inches. The wasteboard from a large CNC router table was the inspiration and literal basis for this work.
The CNC router table where this wood was the backing for many cuts.
Water-soluable Inktense sticks from Derwent were used to emphasize some channels and add color and geometry to the piece.
Pam activates the ink by brushing water in the channels.
After being displayed at Kimball Arts Center in Chicago in 2023, the piece “Under After” has found a happy home in the halls of The Segal Design Institute at Northwestern University outside Pam's former studio there.
This work was first exhibited at the Kimball Arts Center during the Super Surface Art Show in November 2023.
