The Happiness Detective

I was honored to be asked to be the first guest for a new podcast launched by a former student, Addison Davenport. He calls the series "The Happiness Detective." You can tune in here.

I first met Addison when he was a freshman in my Design Thinking & Doing class. I was delighted to have him in class again as a senior in Designing your Life.  In between, he took a year off to be part of a Buddhist monastery in Thailand, and spent his junior year abroad in Bodh Gaya, India  where he studied meditation and philosophy.

After graduating from Northwestern University, Addison taught math in Hawaii through Teach for America, completed a master's degree in education at Johns Hopkins, and gave me surfing tips on Hawaii's North Shore last winter.

He's now living and working in San Francisco as a Happiness Detective (part of the Flourish Project he is building) and as a tutor at Addison Academy.

Here's to detecting and finding happiness, and making friends along the way!
